MIKE JUST’S MODERN SET:
MODERN DRIVER: THUMPER Max Oversized Persimmon Driver with Louisville Golf MFP graphite shaft, regular flex, 44 inches, Tour Wrap grip.
Modern Driver Comments: "I switched to the THUMPER Max after I saw that I was hitting it a little farther in testing, and I really liked the look and launch. The launch of the THUMPER Max is right for my smooth swing speed and tempo. I get a few extra yards because I am getting the right trajectory.”
MODERN FAIRWAY WOODS: NIBLICK Persimmon Fairway Woods #4 and #7 with Louisville Golf MFP graphite shaft, regular flex, standard length, Tour Wrap grips.
Modern Fairway Wood Comments: “I carry the NIBLICK #4 because I play bent grass fairways where the lie is tighter than if I were on other types of grass; the extra loft helps me carry it farther in the air so I get the ball up at my optimum trajectory for my swing speed, so I actually hit it a little farther than a 3-wood from the fairway. I carry the NIBLICK #7 as a replacement for a 3-iron; it is easier to hit and lands softer on the green - it is my go-to club when I get in trouble off the tee and on longer par threes.”
MODERN IRONS: Persimmon Blade 304 irons (4-SW) with graphite shaft, regular flex, Tour Wrap grips.
Modern Iron Comments: "I grew up playing blades and our Persimmon Blade 304 irons give me that feel and feedback I’m used to. Their streamlined shape is a real no-nonsense design - I like that."
MODERN PUTTER: BV Putter, 35 inches in length.
Modern Putter Comments: “I play so well with my BV Putter in my Hickory set of golf clubs that I carry it over into my modern set. I like it because it reminds me of the Bullseye putter I used when I played golf in college at Bellarmine University.”
MODERN GOLF BALL: Srixon Soft Feel
Modern Golf Ball Comments: “For me this is a good ball because it has a high spin rate and I have a smooth swing, so the ball stays in the air longer and I get the maximum distance. It is soft too, and any new soft ball works well with our Persimmon golf clubs. There are no golf balls that hurt a Persimmon club, but a softer, high spin ball may work better if you have a smoother swing like me.”
Modern Set General Comments: “I have never hit the ball long, not even when I was in college, but I always kept it in play, and you’d be surprised how much easier the game is from the fairway. The clubs in my modern set are geared for that type of game - keeping it in play, getting it close to or on the green, getting it up and down and for par.”
MIKE JUST’S HICKORY GOLF SET:

Wooden Cleek 26 degrees

Mashie 32 degrees
Original Mashie 38 degrees
Mashie Niblick 44 degrees
Niblick 50 degrees
Niblick 56 degrees
Jigger (Chipper)
BV putter 35 inches

HICKORY GOLF BALL: Victor golf ball. Wilson 50.
Hickory Golf Set General Comments: “I play our E. Just & Bros. replica woods and irons. I feel that if I expect other golfers to play these clubs, I should play them myself. However, my 38 degree club is an original Mashie; there is nothing special about the original club, it wasn’t made by an original clubmaker like Stewart, I just happen to hit it better than any 38 degree club I’ve hit. I don’t carry a Spoon because I have difficulty hitting it off the deck. I can hit the 21-degree Wooden Cleek we offer because I launch it higher and it stays in the air longer for my swing speed. The Jigger we recently added to our line is a real stroke saver for me, especially on some of the classic Donald Ross courses we play where you need to run the ball up."
